This Springfield was manufactured in 1892. It is of the "Rod Bayonet" type. Inspectors cartouche is clear and has date of 1892. The stock is clearly marked on right side "13 NY". There is also a rack number "519" on the top of the stock just ahead of the butt plate. The overall condition is good. There is minor rust near the muzzle on the left side of the barrel. Little of the original blue is left. The bore is less than pristine. The Thirteenth Regiment New York National Guard was located in Brooklyn. The Thirteenth saw service durning the Civil War. The Regiment later volunteered to join the United States service as part of the 22nd New York Volunteers Infantry. They saw service durning the Spainish/American war. This Rifle dates to service durning that time period. Price is $900.00. No FFL is required for transfer of the rifle. The picture of this rifle is not clear enough to show details of stock markings.
