The .45-70, it’s a caliber that traces its origins from the battlefields of the 19th century to its modern-day presence in hunting camps across the country. It’s capable of handling even the largest game in North America. Introduced by the U.S. Army in 1873, this cartridge was first known as the .45 Government. As it made its way into commercially produced firearms the name .45-70 appeared, because it was loaded with a 70 grain blackpowder charge behind 405 to 500 grain bullets. Virtually all rifle making companies of the late 19th century chambered their single shot or lever action rifles for the .45-70. Even though those companies and their rifles have faded away the .45-70’s popularity has not. Factory .45-70 ammunition has been cataloged continuously since 1873 but never in the excellent variety of loadings available now. They range from 405 grain lead bullet, low-velocity loads for deer hunting and target shooting to high-velocity 300 to 400 grain jacketed bullet loads meant for large game. Harnessing this awesome cartridge is the Henry H010B Lever Action Rifle featuring a high-strength brass alloy receiver fitted with a 22" octagon barrel and a tubular magazine of four-round capacity. Its buttstock and brass-capped forend are crafted of beautiful American walnut. In traditional fashion, the buttstock features a beautiful brass buttplate. This rifle features a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight with a brass bead front sight. Because the receiver is drilled and tapped scope mounting is also an easy option. Be aware that once an optic is mounted the firearm will generally no longer fit in the factory box. To protect the firearm during shipping the additional purchase of a hard case is recommended.

Warranty:
All new items are warrantied by their manufacturer. All items have a 3 calendar day inspection period beginning on the day of delivery. Firearms and NFA items must be inspected at the dealer's location. If the firearm or NFA item is taken off the dealer's premises at any time, the inspection period ends. All items must remain unused during the inspection period.
Returns:
In the event that an item cannot be delivered to the purchaser, there is a 25% restocking fee on all returned firearms and accessories. There is a 40% restocking fee on all returned NFA items.
