An 8x58 cartridge goes in the chamber. Double under lug locking, top lever opening with sliding rifle selector on tang. It's in decent shape for it's age. 65mm chambers (2 9/16") easily extended to 2 3/4" by your gunsmith. @ 50% finish. Bores are fair to good antique with pitting. Rifle has strong lands & grooves. Triggers & Locks work fine, single set trigger for rifle barrel. Beautiful full coverage game scene engraving with stag, & roe deer, floral patterns on the locks. Most of the original finish is worn off. Has some scratches and handling marks & scattered old rust areas, polished off, but no deep damage I can see.
