This gun has a 48” long octagon appearing to be chambered in 60 caliber cap & ball. This gun remains in good overall condition with plenty of character. 48” octagon barrel is worn but shows very nice decoration throughout; Bore is good showing wear; strong rifling. The East India signed flintlock is signed for the company and also “REA”. Lock is dated 1800, making this rifle over 200 years old! Gun still functions properly; hammer stays cocked and fires forward; Nice flint included. Stock is fair to good. Over the years the stock has cracked and splintered and have been repaired with copper bands. Stock also shows plenty of decorative copper decorative pieces. This is a wonderful shelf hanger with plenty of character and even more history!!
