From service with the Spanish Guardia comes this distinctive factory magazine for the Llama model XI, 1911 Copy. Manufacturer was Gabilondo y Cia, Vitoria, Spain. Issuing agency was the Spanish Guardia Civil, Spain’s principal civilian law enforcement agency. We estimate it was manufactured in the late 1960s or early 1970s. Construction is entirely steel: one piece folded steel body, with full length tig welded back. Note the spacing insert, inside the back of the magazine that converted it from .38 Super caliber to 9mm. Right side has 8 round count ports, note the3 position lateral ping marks. Floorplate is serrated front steel, with spring end retention. Follower is stepped type steel. Finish is brushed surface blued steel. Surface detractions are moderate, with some finish freckling and faint insertion wear. This magazine will not fit into the well of a Star Super B or into a Colt type 1911. Body width is .57 inch; length is 1.39 inches; and height is 4.65 inches. It will only fit a Llama XI. Capacity is 9 rounds of 9mm caliber ammunition.
