This Is A Fine Example Of A Sportrized Military Mauser And It Is In Superb Condition From End To End. The Hardwood Stock Is In Top Condition With Only A Few Faint Handling Marks. The Wood Has NO Cracks Or Splits, And the LOP is 13 3/4" With The Factory Steel Butt Plate Intact. The Classic Inlaid Diamond Design and End Cap Are Of Beautiful Maple. The Barrel Was Cut To 21” And Re-Crowned. New Bolt Handel, New Bolt Shroud And Safety Is Highly Polished And Hand Fitted. The Solid German Steel Barrel Does Show Some Fading Which Is Certainly Consistent With Its Age But Still Retains 85%. In addition, The Receiver, Tapered Trigger Guard For Easy Access And Floor Plate Bluing Are In Great Condition With No Rust And The Bore Is Bright with Sharp Rifiling. Topped Off With A Leupold 2-7X Scope As Shown. The 7x57mm Was Developed By The Famous German Firm Of Mauser In 1892, And Adopted By The Spanish Government In 1893. This Rifle Model (M-1893) Was The New And Improved Mauser. Adopted By Spain It Became The Primary Rifle Used During The Spanish-American War In 1898. The 7x57mm Modelo Espanol 1893 Began The Evolution Of The Mauser Rifle Which Became The Most Desired Military Rifle For Over 50 Years.
