Description: A very fine example of a pre-model 10 Smith and Wesson military and police, 5 screw model, with pinned barrel and the serial number shows this to have been manufactured in 1955. Four (4) inch barrel.

Finish is excellent with some holster wear and light handling marks. Color case hardening present on the hammer and trigger, grips are in nice original condition and are serial numbered to the gun. Bore is clean and shiney with no pitting or corrosion.

The lock up is tight and the trigger pull is smooth as silk...harkens back to a time of hand fitting and highest quality standards of manufacture.

This is one that is suitable for display in a collection and can be taken to the range for a day's shooting pleasure.
