This listing is for the exact rifle in the photos. There were so many of the Mosin Rifles issued, some of them made it to Sporter status. Here is one such specimen from its young owner here in West Tennessee. Original Manufacturer, from its Delta character markings, was Izhevsk Mechanical Plant in the Russian city by that name. Bolt, receiver, and magazine numbers do not match. Type is bolt action internal rifle with pull knob cocking and decocking. Chambering is 7.62x54R, one of the most plentiful and effective hunting rounds in the world. Barrel is 16 inch cut and crowned, 1:10 right hand 4 groove. Brake is 9 port, upper port for reduced felt recoil, secured with set screw. Bolt handle has been turned, welded, and smoothed, with about a 90 degree throw. Sight system uses 8x51 thread sizes, with two holes on the receiver rear with .550 centers on the flat surface, with a forward welded block, whose single drill hole’s center is 3.8275 inches forward of the nearest rear hole. Magazine is straight line steel box type with swivel floorplate, designed for, but not requiring, 5 round stripper clips. Capacity is 5+1 rounds. Stock is synthetic aftermarket replacement, 2 by 2 1/4 drop, 1 inch right hand cast, and 12 inches length of pull from the trigger face to its end. Trigger is .250 smooth round faced, pulls at 5 pounds with substantial but smooth felt creep. Overall length with brake is 39 1/4 inches. Weight empty is 7 pounds 5 ounces, centered at the bolt face. Finish is custom epoxy based semi-gloss black, white bolt, and textured finish OD Green stock. We rate this rifle as Very Good Refinish, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore’s rifling is pronounced and strong, but with dark rifling grooves that appear faintly etchy. We’re offering this Mosin Sporter for only $ 189.00. Not C&R Eligible.
