Description:
This is a very clean Colt Single Action Army revolver, shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett, Chicago, Illinois, October 4, 1907, with 49 other guns. It was returned to the factory at some point, and re-sold to Belknap Hardware Company, Louisville, Kentucky, and shipped to Falwell, Ozman Kirk & Company, St. Paul, Minnesota, October 4, 1909. It is a Frontier Six Shooter (.44-40 or .44 WCF) with 4.75” barrel, blue and case finish. It wears a pair of factory ivory two-piece grips of the proper vintage. This is evidenced by the deep-set Colt medallions which have both Rampant Colts facing forward. These medallions were only supplied from about 1910 to 1929. They may well have been installed when the gun was re-shipped. The Colt is in very good condition mechanically, with a very good bore. It retains probably 60% of its factory blue, with very faded out case colors.
With the Colt is an early H. H. Heiser, Denver, Colorado, heavy leather, double Mexican loop holster, with rawhide lacing and imprinted keeper snap, all in fine condition.
