This remarkably fine example of the Swiss straight-pull, bolt action design was the culmination of years of refinement by the Swiss military starting in the late 19th Century. These Swiss rifles are known for their superb workmanship, unequalled reliability, exceptional accuracy, and easy handling. Regrettably, I don't have a bore scope so I can't post pictures of the bore, but it looks new. I don't know but that this rifle was never fired outside of the range for yearly qualification. This example is mounted with a 10-40x50 variable power scope (which was not used for the range session results shown in the pictures below). The scope has a one-screw removal attachment, and it does not alter the original condition of the rifle. It can be easily removed for storage or moving. But with the scope, the rifle's accuracy range is greatly extended. The overall condition of the rifle is exceptional, as you can see. There is a noticeable scratch below the sling mount on the butt stock, which I have tried to show in the pictures. But otherwise, I can find no defect in the rifle at all. These are terrific rifles, and a real collector item to boot. Their importation was discontinued some time ago, so fewer and fewer examples show up on the Internet as time goes by. And what does pop up are usually "well-worn" (to be polite). This is a gorgeous firearm that any collector would be proud to own--and shoot, since this isn't just a "wall-hanger."
