This is a Pre-Model 12 with alloy cylinder and frame, the cylinder shows matching “232831” serial number. The metal surfaces retain 99% original blue and anodized finish with very nice case-hardened color visible on the hammer and trigger. The checkered diamond magna grips with S&W medallions are excellent, the interior of the right panel is marked “232 / 831”. Included is a very good condition non origional metal corner gold and blue factory box with “Helpful Hints” pamphlet and cleaning tools. It is recommended that these alloy cylinder revolvers NOT be fired due to potential failure of the cylinder.
