W.A. "Bill" Sukalle custom match target rifle, 1898 Krag action, medium heavy 26 inch barrel, 13 inch lop to Fray-Mershon butt pad. Barrel markings: "W.A. Sukalle-Gunmaker Phoenix-Ariz." Number under barrel is 52737 and "S" in circle, indicating 1937 production date. Bill Sukalle was one of the best barrel makers and metal smiths of the 1's era and built rifles for Jack O'Conner and other notables. He usually did not do the stock work. His barrels have six lands. His action work is not fancy, but very smooth. This Krag has turning on bolt and checkering on underside of bolt handle. Four holes for scope mount have defiled left receiver and serial number which begins with 4757xx (last numbers drilled), but dates receiver to approx. 1902 and FFL required. There is repair to stock comb. Payment via bank funds or USPS money order.
