The shorter,models model are not seen too often. The Rifle is overall in good to very good condition for an antique. These are great because brass and dies are now readily available to reload for. There is some surplus ammunition and wood tipped blanks on the market still to this day. This rifle has a super smooth action and bolt. The numbers appear to all be matching except for the bolt head (common). The bolt head is close in serial number with the same prefix letter. The bore is very good, bright and shiny with strong rifling. It is a little dirty from long term storage but should clean up nicely. The magazine elevator appears to work properly. There are some minor splits in the front fore end as pictured which should not cause any trouble and could be repaired easily. The butt stock has cartouches on the left and right sides. The blue finish on the metal surfaces is thinning and turning an appropriate light grey/brown patina. Overall a very nice quality rifle. This is an antique and does not require shipping to a FFL unless your state requires it.
