This appears to be a custom English Sporting Rifle built to be very similar in style to
the Purdey Sporting Rifle, but with a lighter barrel and a German style butt plate. It has
lots of nice features, like a Davis Alex Henry Lock with some extremely nice engraving, and a single set trigger.
The trigger guard and hammer also have excellent engraving. The engraving on the hammer(looks like a fish with its mouth open), is identical to
that shown on the diagram of the Purdey sporting rifle:
The barrel is a Rice bbl co. light weight 'A' profile swamped 32" 1:56. All furniture is rust
blued except the estucheons(silver) and the ramrod tip(also silver). The bore looks great, should be an excellent shooter.
It has a few very small, shallow dents in the forearm near one of the estucheons which could probably be
ironed out, and has lost a very small slice of the wood near the very bottom of the butt plate(looks like remnants of an old repair). The wood to metal fit is very good as you can see from the pics. It has a rear flip-up type sight that was modified to add a little height to the middle 'leaf'.
The LOP is 14". Feel free to email me for more
pics. Of course, let me know if you have any questions etc.. Thanks for your interest
