Marlin Mod. 1894 carbine. Cal. 44-40. Ser. # 195XXX, Made in 1899 - one of those oldies you wish could talk. Wood is v.g.+ condition. Metal has gone to a grey/brown patina, with the exception of the magazine tube which is 90 % blue, and most likely a replacement. Lever is more blue than brown patina. Barrel measures 21 1/2" and looks to have been recrowned. There is a approx. 6" length of rifling forward of the chamber showing some black powder corrosion, but the rifling there and in the rest of the barrel is very strong, and it's a very good shooter. I do not have the original sights, but they were replaced with a Marble's bead front and a windage & elevation adjustable tang peep sight made by Taurus which is a very good copy of the Marble's tang sight. All in all, a very collectible / shootable addition to any cowboy collection. $499.00 + $15.00 for insured delivery to your C&R or FFL. 2527457821 or 3855HL(at)gmail(dot)com for questions, or more info or pictures.
