Description: Largest and strongest production trap made. Only ten of these brass traps were made, no more will ever be produced and this trap is #8 of ten. There is approximately 40 pounds of brass in this trap alone and we know what the precious metal prices are doing. The jaws, pan, swivel, ring, and tag are all brass. This trap dwarfs a #6 Newhouse which was the largest commercially produced bear trap at 50 pounds and about 45" in length. This #8 is 63" long and weighs approximately 130 pounds. The springs are 3/8" thick and it has the strongest springs you will see on a trap. The springs and the brass tag have been "hand stamped" with the walking bears, and the side of the jaws are hand stamped with the company name also. The jaws are unique and make this trap the ideal display in that hunting lodge, bar, restaurant, sporting goods store, etc. Comes with a forged three prong drag and cold shut. The workmanship on the trap is excellent and it was 100% made in the U.S.A. More pictures are available on request.
