Description: For sale a Browning Superposed Presentation Grade 4 - 12ga

A true masterpiece from Browning. The coin finished receiver plates feature elaborate Presentation Grade 4 scrollwork engraving surrounding 18kt gold inlaid game scenes - a flock of ducks in a marsh scene on the right plate and pheasants in a field scene on the left. The bottom plate features the same scrollwork along with a gold inlaid partridge, while the trigger guard features a gold inlaid retriever's head.

The left plate is signed "L Cortis" (Lilly Cortis), who can be found listed on page 209 of "Browning Superposed: John M. Browning's Last Legacy" by Ned Schwing.

In excellent condition, with 99%+ original finish. Manufactured in 1980. It features a flat knob and desirable long tang, along with a 28" barrel choked in Full/Modified with a beautiful mirror polish blue. The wood is excellent, with deep, rich color and crisp checkering. The function is flawless.
