Description: 1874 Sharps Conversion Rifle 40-90 SBN 30" barrel with double set triggers, weight, I believe, is approximately 14Lbs.,included are 100 Rounds of brass and reloading dies. Rifle is in good mechanical condition with little original finish (silver with scattered brown patches) but no pitting. Metal stampings are readable but some exhibit wear. Caliber is stamped as Cal 40 2 1/2 (40-70SS) but at sometime in the past was reamed to its present 40-90SBN cal. Bore rates as 9.5 out of 10, silver with sharp rifling thoughout. Wood condition is good thoughout buttstock with few small nicks and about 4 dents of less than 1/2". The forend shows most wear, with a 2x1/4" chip missing from left front to schnabble and 1" stable crack at rear left side of forend. I would estimate that the wood retains at least 80% of it's original varnish. Barrel sights front and rear are intact with rear tang factory drilled and tapped (with keeper screws) for micrometer sights. Please email all questions and requests for additional pictures.
