This offering is an LC Smith Specialty grade made in 1921. It has several options that include 32" barrels (they have been opened to modified choke), ejectors, a Hunter One trigger, and beautiful wood. As seen in the letter, there were only 203 Specialty grade guns made in this configuration! Now, in the interest of full disclosure, the barrels have been refinished in a nice rust blue. The stampings are a little light, as seen in the pictures. Also, the buttstock has a shadowline cheekpiece, which is unusual, but it is serial numbered to the gun. I have a reprint of a 1918 LC Smith catalog and it shows that a cheekpiece stock could be installed by them. The best I can tell, the stock has a very well done, repaired crack to the left of the safety button. Its dimensions are 14 1/2" LOP (if it had a front trigger) including a very nice leather recoil pad. 1 1/2" DAC, 2 1/4" DAH, and neutral cast. Checkering is sharp and stock has a few minor dings. Receiver has faded case colors, with nice colors in some protected areas. Barrels ring well, have nice bores, and no dents. Gun weighs in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. on my scale. Looks terrific for a nearly 100 year old gun! I think the lucky buyer will be very pleased. I will answer any questions to the best of my ability.
