Description: This Rifle was handed down to me by a family member. I took it to a gun shop that specializes in old, rare, vintage firearms. It was easily identified as an 1852 Sharps cavalry carbine. All markings from C.Sharps and R.S.Lawrence are visible. It has a saddle ring on the left hand side of the receiver and an adjustable flip up rear sight. The action, block, hammer and trigger function flawlessly. The breech is tight and the rifling very good. The stock is pretty beat up but still intact .The one and only problem we found with this gun is that there is a slight bulge in the barrel right at the front sight.I am not a collector so I am selling it for a fraction of what one in better condition would cost. This rifle would be a real find for someone in need of a perfect reciever and action, or knew what to do about the barel . It would also be a great piece to display. An authentic gun from the American west.
