This US M1 Rifle, made in the pre-war days of 1940 saw action early, as witnessed by the fact that in 1944 it had to get a new Springfield barrel to replace it's battle worn, 1940 barrel, did it then see action in Europe, or the Pacific? Very nice tiger stripped walnut stocks with the thinner, WWII pistol grip as compared to the later beefy grips. All US Government Issue, this Springfield made US M1 Rifle, designed by John Garand is in a condition that will not often be seen for sale on pre-war M1 Rifles. text 386 and 747 then 4515. All wood and metal is very good, inside and out. Range tested as an excellent shooter. Strong, sharp bore. Original 30-06 chambering, having an eight round enbloc clip. In the box with the M1 Rifle, will be the Instruction Manual, enbloc clip and range safety flag for chamber. More photos upon request. Full list of other firearms offered, upon request.
