Description: Original CIVIL-WAR Era E. Whitney NAVY 2nd MODEL 6th Type NAVY REVOLVER .36 Caliber, 7&1/2" Barrel in fair condition, The top of the Barrel is Stamped ( E. WHITNEY/N. HAVEN ). The Matching Serial Number ( 315xx ) is Stamped on the Barrel, Frame, Trigger-Guard and Loading-Lever. The Walnut Grips fit perfect and look original to the gun, They are in Good Condition with No Cracks but the butt has impact marks from being used as a hammer. All of the Screws are Tight and Excellent, The metal finish has turned a Warm Gray Patina overall with pitting and abrasions, The Cylinder has no legible serial number or scene and one chamber is nicked up that can be clearly seen in the last picture. This does cock and fire but is a little loose and one chamber in on the cylinder jams but if held muzzle up and cocked it works perfect, It may need a new spring or adjustment. This is a Original Civil-War / Western-Frontier used Gun Mfg by Eli Whitney the inventor of the Cotton-Gin that is being sold strictly as a Collector Historical piece as-is not to be fired.....
