THE GUN IS ALL CORRECT , YOU DONT SEE THIS CONDITION FOR THIS PRICE , The WOOD finish appears to have been redone at some point,very nice job, there is a readable swp 1885 cartouche and a readable circle P . the wood does have some marks in it , no gouges , storage type marks , in photos EMAIL CALL ALL THE METAL IS ORIGINAL , INCLUDING THE TRIGGER ASSEMBLY WHICH IS NEAR MINT.. THE BUFFINGTON SIGHT IS CORRECT , THE BOOK READS 1ST BUFFINGTONS INSTALLED SERIAL # RANGE 294000; 1885 , what A COINCIDENCE. I have taken many photos , review them , the gun is very collectible as it was made in 1885 and is a model1873 rifle , the 1884 did not come out until sometime in 1886 . The bore is exceptional, with only the faintest clouding in a very small area closer to the chamber , no rusting or corrosion.
