WWII Model M8 Flare Pistol and A/C Mount
WWII Pyrotechnic Flare Pistol Model AN-M8 and aircraft wall-mount (VERY SCARCE!).
Serial number E-224426. Single shot, top break action. The chamber is 37mm, Barrel
is 4 1/8" with locking lugs 1/2" rear of muzzle. Steel gray Parkerized - back strap
and standing breech is aluminum, painted black. The stock is black hard rubber grips.
Finish has various scratches in the finish, nothing significant. Excellent functional
condition. Marked with Manufactured by E.V.C. Co.” Used for a multitude of purposes,
including firing from a B-17 coming in for a landing to alert ground crews of wounded on
board to have emergency medical team meet the aircraft. Pyrotechnic pistol mount is
manufactured by E.V.C. Co in WW II. This is the locking device that would be mounted
into the bulkhead / wall of the aircraft of the predominately non-pressurized, type IE.
B-17 for the safe firing of the flare. Spent flare cartridge included. Requires C & R.
