We have a 1931 Colt 1911a1, blue, in 45acp. This gun rates about 90% original unaltered condition (and we grade tough!). The gun has an extra wide front sight, and "u" notched, fixed-rear sight. Please read the Colt Factory letter! The letter says it all, this was shipped to Camp Perry OH in 1931. That's where the actual National Matches competitions were held!!!!! So this gun was ordered by Camp Perry (the national matches) just one year before Colt introduced the "National Match" model in 1932. The features are the same as the prewar NM. The wide front sight is totally consistent with the National Matches of the same vintage (we have a few to compare- they are the same). So this is basically a Pre-"National Match" National Match auto! In a way, I consider this more authentic/better than a regular prewar Nat'l Match, as it was actually used for training (or even at) the National Matches!!! We will ship to a valid FFL only.
