This specimen is one of four we recently and happily acquired, all 4 nice pistols. One in the photo is the one the buyer will receive, though. The serial number prefix, VJF, indicates a manufacture date of 1999, the final year of production for this outstanding pistol, the Smith & Wesson Model 4506-1 Stainless full size 5 inch barrel in .45 ACP Caliber. This is one of several that we recently acquired, traded to the factory by The Fresno County, California, Sheriff’s Department – and so marked. Each pistol comes with an instruction manual, one 8 round magazine total, and a relabeled Smith & Wesson late model box. We consider this one to be in Very Good Condition finishwise, with some 85 percent of its original finish remaining, perhaps a bit more. Wear points or contact indications are simply normal holstering and light duty wear, with only occasional buffing indications on the upper lateral edges of the slide, sides of the slide, and forward area of the frame; and very light scour indications on the one-piece grip. Novak sights present a very nice 3-dot picture in lighted conditions, but the original night sights retain very little of their original luminosity.
