There is some pitting in the left tube, from a point 2 inches or so forward of the chamber and extending for about 6 inches. The right tube is similarly but less affected. Left tube pitting is moderate, perhaps .002 deep. The external barrel surfaces have perhaps 70 percent of their original finish remaining, and the cold blue that we applied subdues that. Some of the finish damage extends onto the receiver and forend iron. Buttstock and forend are similar, 70 percent or better. The positive situation is that the shotgun is very tight and strong mechanically, and there are no cracks in the wood anywhere. This is a handy, if heavy, little shotgun, full 13.5 inch length of pull and weighing in at about 6.25 pounds. IC and Modified tubes are tighter than many of its peers, the left tube constricts at .398 and the right one at .403. The pitting will not affect the patterning, since it comes nowhere near the muzzle.
