Description: This Remington 1917 .30-06 has been sitting in a Vietnam Vet’s collection for the past 25 years or so. It is not a re-import, no re-import stamps anywhere. We are unclear as to whether and when it was refinished. At worst, we believe it was an arsenal refinish. Lettering and finish are very sharp and nice over the entire surface. The Ordnance bomb on LH side of receiver is weak on one side, but that might be original, since that portion of the receiver is rounded anyway. Lettering over chamber is strong with only dimness to the center letters N and G in the Word Remington. Barrel date, 7 – 18, July 1918, is very sharp and clear, with the ordnance bomb and flames and letter R above that not quite as sharp. Top side of the forend area swivel band has some conspicuous moderate pitting, and the swivel’s outer edges have some that is less conspicuous. Trigger guard assembly is a very nice Excellent parkerized with mild stress to its screw heads. Steel buttplate is mostly brown patina, with some moderate pitting on its edges. PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR HALOGEN LIGHTS EXAGGERATE BROWN APPEARANCE TO MANY OF OUR FIREARMS. Buttstock is a nice semi-gloss refinish, probably US Arsenal refinish. Detractions are as follows. There are two barely visible hairline cracks directly behind the tang on the top of the pistol grip area, and one underneath that is less visible. There is a series of pecks on the upper right side of the pistol grip area that range to about 5 thousandths deep by our estimate. There are other less conspicuous pecks and dings here and there, with some drawing of the buttstock above the floorplate line on the lower right side directly above the magazine floorplate. Sights are Very Good to Excellent and original. The bore is Good by our estimate; rifling lands are pronounced but the grooves and portions of the land have extensive light pitting throughout. Chamber and throat area appear Very Good. We believe that this 1917 is a Second World War Arsenal Refinish, but we are not certain. It is, on our view, an outstanding specimen, especially so given that it is not a re-import. Own it for only $ 489.95

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
