XM39-2set From the collection of one of our favorite Cold War era Navy Veterans comes this complete set, two Smith & Wesson Factory Magazines and a Black Basketweave Bianchi # 30 Open Top Leather Double Magazine Case, for the Smith & Wesson Model 39 Pistol. Our Vet’s pistol, that we sold last year, was a 39-2 from the early 1970s. These were on duty in private security and law enforcement training in the 1970s and 1980s, while our Seaman served in his second career after his tour of duty. Both magazines have only moderate freckling, and insertion and ejection wear on their surfaces. Magazine holder shows moderate amounts of scouring as well. We rate all three pieces in this package as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Both mags are excellent mechanically, and have not been loaded for several years. This set will work admirably for any single stacked traditional 3900 type Smith & Wesson, including Models 39, 639, 3904, 3906; and they will even work in the subcompacts like the 3913, 3953, and CS-9, only with protrusion on those sub compacts. This set is especially appropriate and period correct, however, for any 39 or 639 pistol manufactured between 1960 and 1988.
