Description: From its ABS serial number prefix, this Smith & Wesson Distinguished Combat Magnum Stainless, Model 686, was manufactured in 1983, the fourth year of production for the series. It is fully traditional, from its Red Ramp / White Outline Sights to its Satin Stainless .375 semi-target hammer and .312 combat trigger to the end of its square butt grip frame. Only the SK-G Pachmayrs have been added, and they are period appropriate. The only surface detractions visible to us are very faint holster buffing to the cylinder surface and light rotation marking. We classify its condition as Excellent, since 95 percent of its original finish is intact by our estimate. Photos should suffice, at any rate, for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is Excellent mechanically. Bore, cylinder chambers and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Blast effect to the under side of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is negligible, only a faint dark carbon streak with no etching, much less any cutting. Double action trigger pull is smoother than average, and the hammer travels an additional 10 degrees after the cylinder times in all six positions in double action. On single action, the hammer travels a full 25 degrees on all six after the cylinder times, and the single action trigger pull is an exceptionally crisp 2 7/8 pounds. This revolver was never modified with the replacement firing pin or hammer nose bushing in the late 1980s, and we consider that to be a positive asset to its collectible status. Replacement price on new 686-6 revolvers is over $700 in our area, if a person can even find one. And this specimen is more appealing than any of its NIB descendants anywhere. We're offering it for only $ 589.95

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
