Professionally rebuilt to "Arsenal Reissue" Condition by James River Armory, a highly respected Civil War and military firearms restorer, using the exact process that the U.S. Government Arsenal used, only with much more time and attention to details. This rifle has SN 3752265, manufactured in May, 1945, a WWII rifle that has surely seen interesting times, but most likely in Korea. This rifle has a new Krieger Criterion barrel; new American Walnut stock set with oiled finish, and properly cartouched to match serial number (see for example trfindley.com); original zinc phosphate gray-green reparkerized metal to provide the correct finish; new butt plate; original USGI parts; head space gauged; gas cylinders and oprods are gauged; all critical areas inspected. Test Fired and ready to shoot. Garand Match legal. Comes with a Plano Gun Guard hard case, and two clips. As a historical note, very few M1 Rifles can be found in “As Issued” condition from WWII. The U.S. Government ran a constant rebuild program on this rifle during the war and up to the 1970’s. Barrels and stocks as well as components, such as rear sights, were replaced and the metal was refinished. It has been estimated that almost 98% of all M1’s went through this rebuild program at least once. This configuration with the new Krieger barrel is recommended if you are going to shoot in competition, or want a barrel that is accurate and that will last a lifetime. Good M1 Garands are becomming more difficult to find, and prices are continuing to increase.
