Description: Ruger M77 Mark II Express Rifle in 30-06 Springfield. Very Rare to find and only one is available for sale as of this listing that I am aware of. These were made from 1 and are now out of production, mine carries a 1992 production serial number 780-778XX. From what I've read there were less then 100 made in each caliber that year (25-06, 270, 7mm RM, 30-06, 300WM, 338WM) This rifle was one of the first factory runs in this model and is very desirable to collectors of Ruger Rifles.

I sent my gun to Ruger in 2004 for inspection and to have the lower section of the bolt face removed so that it is a CRF (Controlled Round Feed), odd as it may seem but the first few M77 MKII were all push feed!

Here's the specs:

Ruger M77 Mark II Express in 30-06 Springfield; 22'' BBL. with a Solid Quarter Rib Iron Sights 50 and 100 yard (the barrel and the quarter rib are made from a solid piece of steel); Barrel Band front swivel stud; 13 1/2" LOP; Ruger 3/4" Rubber Butt Pad; Drop Down Steel Floor Plate; Ebony Forend Tip; Nicely Figured Circassian Walnut Stock, Cut Checkering; Factory Box and papers.

The stock has a very light scratch just above the rear swivel stud .0400" long, and a few faint dents just in front of the rear stud. This happened during shipment to Africa in a double gun case, the front bead of my 458 Lott was making contact with the stock of the Ruger. They are very faint and barley noticeable other then the scratch. Sad but true..... hey, it went through a lot of brush without a scratch, but the Air Lines, that's a scary place even in a all aluminum case!

Rifle wears a Leupold VXIII 1.5-5x20 mm scope in Matt, duplex reticle in factory Ruger Rings. Comes with Butler Creek Corp. push open front cap and objective lines cover.

Includes 200 pieces of Norma brass, of which 113 is loaded ammo: 70 are loaded with the 200 gr. Norma Oryx bullet, and 43-220 gr. FMJ Woodleigh Solids. I'll also include a box each of Norma Oryx 180 & 200 gr. bullets with the deal. They both shoot to the same POA, and like everything I own shoots extremely well..... for a factory Ruger untouched to shoot under 3/4" MOA that's pretty good!

Asking $1,400.00 O.B.O. plus a $45.00 shipping fee to your FFL.

Great rifle for the African bush, light weight, handles as well as you can point your finger, swings just as fast and can be used with or without the scope in the field. Ruger rings are field removable and no change in POI.

Thanks for looking.

PS: I forgot to mention that the Deluxe/Express rifles have some of the most beautiful wood I have even seen in a Factory Rifle! This is not the dark ugly and dull plane old Walnut found on all other Ruger guns! This wood is gorgeous, bright, has depth, great figure, some nice fiddle back on the left side.... other then the scratches, this gun/scope and hours of hand lapping the barrel are in mint condition!

I thought since most like to know how well a gun will shoot before buying them I'd shoot off a few rounds late today. I started with a super clean barrel so I knew I'd need to foul it up before it would settle in so I waited for it to cool down. Only by that time it gets pretty dark here, and with my old eyes while using a 5x 20mm scope just isn't what I expected.

This is off my indoor bench at 100 yards. After (2) fouling shots and a little over 10 minutes to cool down the first 3 round group measured .3905" !! These were shot at a rather slow pace to prevent the barrel from over heating but even after trying to wait the light was going away fast so I had to speed things up towards the end but the second group still only measured .6905" the last round fired opened the combined groups but is still a very respectable group shoot in the last 20 minutes of light.
