Description: NO NYC. Here is an excellent quality replica of the 1853 British Enfield Military Rifle that figured so prominently in the American Civil War. This specimen fought at the Battle of Shiloh. Not the original 1862 battle, but the 150th Anniversary reenactment in April of 2012. Unlike many muzzleloaders in our neighborhood, this one’s Confederate Camp owner kept it clean. Its only surface wear comes from bayonet contact to the muzzle end of the barrel. Manufacturer is Euroarms d’Italia, and Importer is affiliate Euroarms USA. It sports an authentic Blue steel 39 inch barrel with 1:78 twist rifled .577 bore, .58 caliber; charcoal process color casehardened hammer, trigger, and lock with London Armoury and British Proof insignia on the lock plate; European Walnut two-piece stock with 14 inch length of pull from trigger to buttplate and 55 inch overall length; brass buttplate, trigger guard, band and forend cap; gray steel ramrod and blue steel screw heads and sling swivels. Sight is authentic period correct with elevation marks to 700 yards. The Enfield Rifle Musket, writes the factory, markets the peak in design and manufacture of the military percussion rifle. This model and all the Enfield based models in the Black Powder range has been meticulously reproduced by Euroarms Italia based on the original gauges and patterns of the late 19th century. It is acknowledged that the Euroarms Enfield … is the finest reproductions available today. The 1853 specification includes a well seasoned solid Walnut Stock, cold forged steel barrel, cast brass furniture, and locks which are beautifully colour hardened by the original bone charcoal technique.
