This is a hard to find .30-06 FN-49 in very good condition. The rifle was owned by a collector for many years, and has been well cared for. It has a very good bore and very nice stock. It doesn't have the ugly medallion cutout typical of Egyptian rifles, but it does have an arsenal repair to the buttstock (common in this type of military rifle). The rifle has all matching serial numbers and is not a cobbled together parts gun. The reciever is stamped with a fancy 'AL' crest, signifying it was either from the Beligum or Luxembourg army (I don't know which, but was one of the two). It has the arsenal cartouche (similar to the US 'bomb' acceptance stamp) and a number I am told is probably a regimental ID number. The non-detachable 10 round magazine has a small hole for a screw that limits the capacity to five rounds. This makes it legal for use in hunting in most states. It comes with the correct SAFN bayonet and scabbard. Also included is an extra reciever cover (a $40.00 value) which can be modified for mounting a scope. This will allow you to switch from original to hunting without ruining the value of the matching serial numbered original reciever cover. The rifle features an adjustable gas regulator which allows you to 'dial in' for the cartridge/bullet weight you are shooting and reduce felt recoil. This is a very comfortable .30-06 to shoot!
