We are not privy to Browning date information on their knives. That market has constantly changed since Browning began dealing knives back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. One positive aspect of this knife, apart from the excellence that Browning always represents, is the word Japan on its reverse tang. This is a small drop point skinner constructed of a single piece of steel, overall length 7 1/4 inches and blade proper length of 3 3/8 inches from point to pommel. Model number is 813, and it comes with its original 4/5 length black nylon factory scabbard. We do not believe this knife has ever been sharpened, and we detect no more than a half dozen tiny contact scuffs on its blade surface. We rate it as Excellent, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Handle material is pliable rubber with laminated wood inserts and the Browning deer head logo. Japan made knives of this style command pricing well over $50 apiece in our area.
