The Tokarev style pistols are perhaps more numerous than any of our domestic handguns, but most of us are still only vaguely familiar with them. The nearest we came to appreciating them earlier was a limited batch of precisely this type pistol, the Norinco Model 213 imported by Interstate Arms in Billerica, Massachusetts, in the late 1980s and early 1990s. None of us cared for the backward safety lever, or the rough milled features of the pistol, but it earned our respect by functioning well and by its solid workmanship. This one's surface detractions are only moderate. The rough milled appearance, especially on the sides of the trigger guard, was typical for these. There are faint amounts of whitening on the sharp edges, as the photos show, and some holster contact on the forward areas of the slide's upper shoulders. We rate this 213 Tokarev 9mm as Very Good, close to Excellent, since only about 15 percent of its surfaces are affected by any kind of wear by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves.
