Description: THE ONLY PENDING SALE ON THIS IS OUR IN-STORE AUCTION ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 16, 2010. IT WILL SELL TO THE HIGH BIDDER REGARDLESS OF PRICE. Auction will be conducted by Col. Don Ellis, Tennessee License # 196, Firm # 410. All items will be lotted for inspection by Thursday, January 14. If you're a serious gun enthusiast, dealer, or collector, please consider attending our in-store auction on Saturday, January 16, 2010, beginning at 9 a.m. We'll have over 400 lots, Browning guns, Case Knives, Colt firearms, H&R, Remington and Winchester ammunition in case lots, Beretta, Browning, Colt, Ruger firearms, Sig-Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Taurus, World War I and II Military, Winchester, and many more. This will be an absolute auction, no by-bidding, held on our premises at 117 Front Street, Henderson, Tennessee. We're 90 miles East of Memphis, 75 miles North of Tupelo, very convenient to I-40. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> We occasionally get to carry on brief conversations with our friends in Iowa and South Dakota, and we always inquire about the welfare of the partridge crop in those parts – the population of Mexican Quail. Our populations are way down since the heydays of the 1970s and 1980s, and the demise of federally supported cover crops here in Tennessippi. Parvo epidemics also damaged us. Thank the Good Lord for Quail Unlimited and their valiant efforts to restore the population here in the Mid-South. Here is a choice fowling piece from the final Reagan Years, an Italian made, F.I.E. Imported, Franchi recoil operated Auto, the Model 48 AL Hunter with Pheasant and Waterfowl scenes expertly engraved on the brushed aluminum sides of its alloy receiver. The forend, always vulnerable on these, has been replaced with an attractive synthetic beavertail that strongly resembles burly walnut. Most important, this forend won't crack, no matter how many Pigeon and Express loads a hunter runs through it. The buttstock has a wisely fitted shock buffer visible at the contact point on the receiver, and we are happy to report that there are absolutely no cracks in the pistol grip area, or anywhere else on the buttstock for that matter. Buttstock is its original 14 1/4 inch length of pull, and the only thing we can see that this fine Franchi needs, besides a good home, is perhaps a Triple Magnum Pachmayr Pad. Buttstock still has very strong original glossy finish, with briar thicket contact indications that affect 20 to 25 percent of its surface area. Receiver finish is Excellent, with moly moderate whitening to the edges of the trigger guard. Barrel has normal forend contact streaking on its underside, but apart from that the bluing is very strong. And the attractive synthetic forend is pretty much impervious to briars, brambles, and even barbed wire. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent, thanks to a thorough cleansing from one of our Methodist Minister friends. The rib is perfectly straight, and while the small white bead sight is visible, we in the bifocal club highly recommend the current high-visibility fiber optic front sights that we simply call Ray-bars. This Franchi trips our Postal Scales at just under 7 pounds. Own this excellent, serviceable, solid Franchi bird gun THE ONLY PENDING SALE ON THIS IS OUR IN-STORE AUCTION ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 16, 2010. IT WILL SELL TO THE HIGH BIDDER REGARDLESS OF PRICE. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
