Description: Turkish gunsmithing is considerably older than European gunsmithing. Here, however, is a specimen of the first Turkish made pistol to win wide respect in the United States, the Stoeger Cougar 8000 chambered in 9mm. Manufacturer is Stoeger Silah Sanayi of Istanbul, Republic of Turkey, a Beretta held company since 2002. Importer is Beretta affiliate Stoeger Industries of Accokeek Maryland. A combination of factors led Beretta to introduce its 8000 Cougar Series of Pistols in 1994, chief among them market pressure from the Sig Sauer 228 and 229 pistols. The 8000 Cougar retained the smoothness and simplicity of the 92FS / M9 Pistols, but with thinner lines and a shorter 3 1/2 inch barrel. The Cougar’s cam lock rotating barrel still stands as an unparalleled innovation. Both variants, the Italian Cougar and the Stoeger version, are now discontinued but these pistols will be around for many years because of their quality. Specs are the same as the parent 8000 Cougar Beretta. Type is cammed blowback traditional double and single action semi-automatic. The ambidextrous safety levers also serve as decockers, to put the car in park, just like the US Army’s M9. First shot from a resting hammer is a smooth long double action pull, and each subsequent shot 6 pound vicinity single action with minimal felt trigger creep, just like the Standard 92FS and M9. Construction is lightweight alloy frame, Matte blue and anodized, with steel slide, barrel, and working parts; and with a blue steel serrated spur modified Commander type hammer, as the photos show. Hammer is blue steel, as is the trigger pin and grip screws. Sights are dovetailed in black anodized three dot. Grip panels are checkered texture polymer. Grip frame is serrated fore and aft, and the magazine release can be easily reversed for Left Handed shooters, just like the M9. Maximum slide thickness is 1.1 inches; overall length measures 7 inches from the muzzle to the grip frame strut; height is 5 3/8 inches from the top of the rear sight to the bottom of the magazine floorplate. Weight empty is 31.4 ounces. Capacity is 15 + 1 rounds of 9mm Luger – 9mm Parabellum – 9x19 – call it what you will, THE 9mm. At press time on this ad we were in stock on both 10 and 15 round magazines. Beretta 92 magazines can be readily modified to work in the Cougars. This specimen comes to us from its exclusive civilian owner in Iowa who traded it in on a Beretta 9mm. From its serial number date portion, it was manufactured in 2006. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint amounts of edge whitening. We rate it as Excellent Condition, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We estimate it has been fired no more than 500 rounds. Replacement pricing on a Beretta Cougar is upwards of $700 in many areas [we have them new for $519, Guns America search terms Cougar Robertson]. We’re offering the Stoeger Cougar in the photos, however, for only $ 349.00. Not transferable to civilian residents of California, the District of Colombia, or Massachusetts.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
