It never left Smith & Wesson Corporate Custody until we got it. Fired Brass is dated from 2007, and it has the white steel Master Gun Lock, as well as its internal lock with two keys. This is the standard service size M&P, 4 inch barrel with full size integral rail polymer frame and 17+1 rounds of firepower capacity. This specimen came to us with only one magazine, but magazines are readily available through the country. This product code 609006 specimen has a magazine safety; this pistol will not fire unless the magazine is in battery. That in addition to the M&P’s basic trigger safety and firing pin safety. Specs are as follows. Weight empty, no magazine, is 21.7 oz; weight fully loaded will be a bit over 30 ounces. Maximum overall length is 7.5 inches; 5 3/8 inch height; and very nice thin 1.2 inch width. Barrel length is 4 1/4 inches with a 6 1/2 inch sight radius. This pistol, like all M&Ps, is full time double action, striker fire action, with a very consistent 6.5 pound trigger pull that only travels .300 inches from rest to fire and resets in only .14 inches. Frame is Zytel Polymer, and barrel and slide are Black Melonite finished stainless. The frame, as the photos show, incorporates a Picatinny Weaver type rail for light and laser mounting and ambidextrous safety levers. Sights are rapid resolution 3 dot. ThisMP-9 can easily have its backstrap changed for a different grip contour. M&P series has a fully ambidextrous magazine release setup; it is as easy to switch sides on it as a Beretta 92. The M&P series takes all comers for ease of handling, positive feel, and reliability and consistency under the most adverse field and combat situations. This M&P 9 variant commands retail prices in our area upwards of $700 apiece, if a person can even find one. We're offering the MP9 in the photos, however, for only $ 459.00.
