Manufacturer was Arsenal A.D., of Kazanlak, Bulgaria. From its original 25 serial number date code, it was manufactured in 1985. Importer was Century Arms of Georgia, VT., and had to be re-serialized. The original number is relevant only for its date code, and is Not the number of record. Class is Walther type blowback small size semi automatic, double and single action service pistol. Chambering is 9x18mm Makarov caliber, not to be confused with any other 9mm. Construction is entirely steel metal, with polymer grips. Barrel is 3.68 inches, with six groove right hand 1:9.5 inch chrome lined bore and chamber. Slide is round shouldered, with rear lateral serrations, .979 wide at the port. Sights are slide integral small partridge blade front, with serrated rib, and dovetailed rear black notch that is drift adjustable only for windage. Trigger is .245 smooth faced, travels 1 1/8 inches. Hammer is .295 serrated spur. Trigger pull is 15 pound vicinity and uniform two stage on double action; shorter two stage single action at 6 1/2 pounds with moderate felt creep and overtravel. We estimate the slide cycling requires 30 to 35 pounds of pull to accomplish it. Russians and Bulgarians all milked cows when these pistols were designed and issued after World War II. Safety is left side slide mounted for right handed shooters, and serves as a decocker as well. Magazine is 8 shot with full lateral cutaways. Magazine release is butt mounted European type. Trigger guard serves as a disassembly lever, on the Walther order. Overall length is 6 3/4 inches by 5 inches height. Weight empty is 25 3/4 ounces with center at the breech face. Finish is brushed surface blued steel. Surface detractions are minimal, only faint amounts of edge wear. We rate this Makarov as Excellent Condition, 90% or better finishwise. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this pistol has been fired fewer than 300 times. It comes in its original Century Arms importer box with a total of two magazines.
