This early model of the Lee Enfield dates from before the First World War, and this and later models were the mainstay of the British Empire for decades. The original design, because in part of its simplicity, was a brutally rugged battlefield rifle, which was not only fast handling but incredibly reliable. The bore and headspace are good, and there's no wear on the locking lugs. Despite its age, this rifle is in excellent condition and would be a proud addition to any collection. Both the wood and metal are in great shape. At one time, these Enfields were a dime-a-dozen. Now, collectible examples are becoming scarce. Although this rifle retains much of its original good-looks, it would still make a great shooter if someone wanted to take it out to the range occasionally and shoot it.
