Remington Model 1900 12ga. EJECTORS- NEAR NEW
This minty smoothbore was made in 1906 and is in 98% overall condition, all factory original including the wood finish and checkering. This is a collector condition, investment quality shotgun and a must have as a near perfect example of Remington’s offering of a “field grade” side by side shotgun. There are few Remington doubles available, with most very worn and grey. Any good collection of vintage American doubles should include one example from each maker. In addition, this is a Remington fluid steel barreled gun with EJECTORS and great stock dimensions. This is a gun to hunt or shoot sporting clays with and it will continue to increase in value if properly cared for.
The 30” barrels retain 99% factory blue, have mirror bores, tight ribs, barrels ring like chimes, with IM/IM chokes (.027/.026), bore diameter factory .726/.725, minimum barrel wall thickness 38 thousandths (super strong), 2 ¾” chambers, well timed ejectors, single silver front bead, no dents, barrels tight on breech face and hinge pin like a new gun should be, just a great set of barrels on this 104 year old shotgun.
The receiver retains 98% bold, vivid factory case color, excellent screws, clear lettering, action tight with lever way right of center, double triggers that are crisp and clean, trigger guard retains 80% original factory case color, barely any noticeable wear anywhere.
The wood is without cracks, splits, or repair, and retains 95% of the original factory varnish that is starting to flake near the butt plate, checkering is original and clean, wood to metal fit is exceptional, LOP is 14 1/8” to factory butt plate, drop at heel is 2 5/8”, drop at comb is 1 5/8” for great stock dimensions (I can add a pad of your choice to get longer LOP), just a gun that has not been carried much.
This incredible find weighs in at 7 1/2lbs. and balances just forward of the hinge pin and is ready to carry afield or at the range. Remington made a fine double barreled shotgun and remains one of the most obscure examples of the vintage American doubles for the collector and shooter. To find one this nice is a great opportunity to own a working piece of art that will increase in value as you enjoy it.
