Here is Mossberg's civilian version of their Military Tactical 500 and 590 shotguns, their #54125 variant Model 500 Breacher. Chambering is for 2 3/4 inch or 3 inch shells; barrel is 18 inch cylinder bore; 6 shot capacity; all-weather synthetic Cruiser pistol grip and forend with swivel studs included. This is the traditional Mossberg 500 with tang safety, a definite plus for left-handed shooters and even a faster surer safety for stressful situations. The sawtooth muzzle brake apparatus is where this shotgun gets its name, it will aid with muzzle retention against wood, and also act as a splitter so that the officer does not have to lay his shotgun down. The forend strap is also designed for similar purposes. These shotguns are not easy to come by, of course. Replacement pricing on these in our area, if a person can even find one, is $400 apiece or more.
