Examination of its lines and workmanship demonstrate the impressive expertise of Turkish Gunmakers who, after all, have been at the trade for as long as their Italian teachers and counterparts. Not only Mossberg, but also Remington, Smith & Wesson, and Weatherby have all indulged their lines with shotguns made in Turkey; and this is the most attractive of the entire lot. The Silver Reserve Field, of which this is a specimen, is equipped with five interchangeable choke tubes and wrench, providing the ultimate in versatility with lead, steel and other non-toxic loads. Mossberg International SKU is 75411. At the heart of every Reserve Series Over-and-Under is an underlock design, box lock action for superior strength and low profile. So says Mossberg. On the Silver Reserve Field models, they further remark, you'll find a silver receiver embellished with rich scroll work and tasteful gold engraved game scenes. Each receiver is fitted to a satin finished Turkish walnut stock and forearm, hand checkered and capped off with a radiused recoil pad for snag free mounting and recoil reduction. The photos show the attractively 20 gauge blued barrel, 3 inch chambered 26 inch Vent Rib with a total of five Benelli/Beretta thread choke tubes, cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified and Full. Stock and forend are satin finished European Walnut with cut checkering. Receiver is engraved satin nickel with gold inlay. Trigger is gold plated, and the tang safety served as barrel selector. Barrels have single block extractor, and thc extractor and chamber sides are nicely jeweled. Buttstock measures for a 14 inch length of pull including the Decelerator type buttpad; 1 1/2 inch drop at comb and 2 1/4 inch drop at heel with about a 3 degree right hand cant from the frame. weight empty is 7.1 pounds. This shotgun is new and unfired; the only shelfwear we can find is a small faint crease across the under side of the buttstock a couple inches beneath the pistol grip, and a moderate press to the checkering on the right side of the pistol grip. Bores and chambers are whistle clean, and we did not have to clean this shotgun. These Silver Reserves command prices upwards of $800.00 in our area.
