Description: Here is Stevens's ancestor to the honorable Remington 550-1, the Springfield 87A semi-auto, chambered for .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle interchangeably. These were only manufactured, we have it on good authority, from 1938 until 1945. The 87A was a strong, well built rifle that functioned reliably and had a distinctive appearance with its 8-vent ports on the left side of the receiver. All of them had walnut stocks, and that is the case with this specimen. This is a local rifle that has spent its entire career in the hilly woods of North McNairy County, West Tennessee. It is very solid but weathered. The stock has no swells or cracks, but there is little of the original finish left. Metal surfaces exhibit considerable original bluing, but the barrel also has about 30 percent light external pitting. Bore, chamber, and mechanism, however, are all bright, clean, and excellent. We have test fired this rifle and it functioned flawlessly with Winchester copper coated LRs. The test, of course, for S-L-LR autos like the 87A and the descendant 550 Remingtons, is to make sure the chamber is not pitted forward of the Short cartridge's case length, disabling one from reliably firing Long Rifle rounds. Finishwise, we rate it as Good since it has close to half its original finish intact. Own this good old solid Springfield 87A for only $ 139.95

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
