From one of our local customers comes this very nice Reagan Era Charter Off-Duty, one of the first with a full lug type barrel shroud. Serial number is 994,000 range, and we estimate it was manufactured in 1986 or 1987. This is, of course, the economized descendant of the bright blue Charter Undercover, and the only difference is that this OD3825 Off Duty's finish is matte blue instead of polished blue; and it has a fully shrouded two-piece barrel. It still has the semi-gloss anodized grip frame, and matte blue steel serrated hammer and trigger. Its action is very smooth, characteristic of the early Charters. Grips are dark brown laminate, and the front sight is rib and ramp type with fixed notch rear sight. The only surface detractions are faint amounts of whitening on its sharp edges and moderate cylinder rotation marking. We rate it as a strong Very Good, close to Excellent specimen, but photos should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically; bore, cylinder chambers and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Own this very attractive, Reagan Era Charter for only $ 289.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, Chicago, Oak Park IL, D.C., Massachusetts, or New York City. Since D.C. circumvented Heller simply by adopting California regulations, we anticipate that possibility for Chicago and New York City now that the McDonald ruling has come down.
