It is a surplus rifle and has the typical bumps and bruises but is in overall very good condition. I did my best to remove the bulk of the grease and cosmoline but did not remove the hardened protective layer it came with, since it seems almost like an ancient lacquer. I'll leave that up to the end user. The stock is solid with no cracks, chips or breaks and the color is right. The metal is good and has no pitting or rust. The bore is very good. The rifling is very deep and very sharp from throat to muzzle. I can't imagine this rifle was shot very much. It does include the dust cover and the chrysanthemum is present on the receiver.
