Made in 1889 this third model 1873 has the correct Winchester #21 front sight, rear sight is a Winchester #22E with serrated sides. This rifle has the very desirable half magazine. All other features are standard for an 1873 rifle. I have a records search from the Cody Firearms Museum and it letters correctly. The bore is very good, with strong rifling, some roughness, a little dark. I think the condition is a 6+ on a 1-10 scale. It can probably stand a good cleaning. Receiver is intact with all parts and operates smoothly. None of the screws are buggered up. The wood is very good, fits proud, very solid, no cracks, heavy dents or extra holes, one tiny chip on the left front of the forearm, hardly noticable. Overall finish is 50-60%.
