This vintage 38-55 Winchester was made in 1907 and has two special order features, a 1/2 octagon 1/2 round lightweight barrel in 24 inch length, and a 3/4 length magazine. Weighing under 7 pounds it is definately a lightweight rifle. The barrel retains 90% blue with slight wear on the sharp edges, bore is excellent, shiny bore with sharp rifling, I would rate it 9+. The rear sight is standard Winchester flat top with 1C elevator, front is standard Lyman dovetail type. The receiver retains 60% blue on sides with other areas fading to brown patina. Excellent wood to metal fit, the buttstock is free of cracks, chips or major dents and has some nice figured grain, standard cresent buttplate. Forend is also in very good condition, free of cracks, chips and dents. No extra holes in metal or wood. Overall mechanically excellent condition for this rare and collectable Winchester. Email any questions or additional photo requests, I try to respond same day if possible.
