Serial #501xx (After 1936). This is a Really Nice Model 54. We have had them "As NEW". This one isn't quite there but has a lot going for it regarding condition, configuration and of course, Caliber. Buit after end of published production (1936 when the model 70 was introduced, they were actually built up to and just past 52000). This has some of the characteristics of the improved model 70. Rear Bridge is not drilled and the Stock is not notched for the Rear Lyman WJS Receiver Sight. Front sight is the small flip down sight found on later featherweights and standard 70's that were drilled for scope mounts. We believe this one did come with the traditional M-54 rear sight. Metal is fantastic carrying all of 98%+ Original Finish (Check the photos on the trigger guard, floorplate, bolt handle and extractor). Wood has nice even Original Finish with the most drastic mark being the small ding in the checkering in the last photo. There are a couple of other minor handling marks, one on the pistol grip checkering on the left side and a couple of very incidental marks near the toe on the bottom of the buttstock.
